Fire-fighting engineering
We are often involved in the definition of the risks due to fire and explosion, as well as in the definition of systems for prevention, the revelation and extinction of such event, given the complexity of the plants treated and the type of substances used in them.
What We Do
Trough an analytical and quantitative assessment of the real level of safety, fire-fighting engineering allows to reach the required level of safety by determining the risk profiles, the development of fire strategy and performance design.
The targets are the safeguarding of human life and economic goods, and the protection of the environment.
Fire-fighting engineering is completed by drawing up emergency and evacuation plans which make it possible to follow the course of a fire and the propagation of combustion products and always to know the survival rate of a person in an environment.
The engineering developed on the basis of national and international technical standards as well as on “best practice” of the customer, includes different activities:
-
Calculation of fire loads and fire resistance performance, design evaluation and documentation development aimed at obtaining mandatory legal certifications, with direct interface to the competence bodies.
-
Development of improvements aimed at achieving the minimum regulatory and additional safety levels required and/or recommended by/to the customer, with ordinary and advanced methods of fire safety design.
-
Engineering of every phase of the project for the realization of active/passive protection systems, also in close collaboration with other business sectors, such as civil, piping and electro-instrumental, for standardized and unregulated activities.
